Logistic and product labels are the most commonly used method of marking individual products, collective packs, cartons or pallets. They fulfil an information role, but also make product identification and delivery tracing easier thanks to the ability to print bar codes on them (e.g. ODETTE, GS1 labels, etc.)
- usually made of self-adhesive paper or film
- adhesives with high strength of adhesion to most surfaces, e.g. cardboard, metal, glass, stretch film, etc.
- information and data can be printed using printing machines (also in colour, using flexographic or digital techniques), although they are most commonly printed by the customers using label printers and high-durability ink ribbons with appropriately selected parameters
- exposed outdoors and affected by solar radiation, e.g. windshield washers at fuel stations
